A typical example is automotive radiator tube being produced from a ram extruder or similar.
The heaviest duty Servo-Torq® cutter is usually required for these applications. We can fit torque enhancer gearboxes to triple the servo motor power.
A free-standing cutter is normally used for this application, with a roller bed between the extruder die & the inlet into the cutting machine.
Robust piercing-type knife blades are used to handle the extremely tough nature of extruded aluminum. The knife is usually located at the end of an extended blade arm. This increases the blade speed, critical when ultra-high line-speeds are involved.
